Application and audience

For slab-built pottery with a rounded body and a rim narrower than the widest part.

The system can be disassembled inside the clay instead of forcing a rigid form through a narrow rim. Small, Medium and Large are individually dimensioned sets; the ceramic handle is added separately after demolding.

Operation and assembly

  1. Insert the segments into the removable central pull-lock, alternating the four wide and four narrow parts.
  2. Form the slab-built clay following the Belly Mug documentation.
  3. Once the clay has firmed, remove the central core. Move the narrow segments inward, then remove the other parts through the opening.

Printing information

  • Use the matched file set for your chosen size and its corresponding MakerWorld profile.
  • Do not mix sizes or scale the files manually; the mechanism depends on its designed clearances.

Care and use

Published dimensions describe wet-clay forming, not the fired mug. Obtain shrinkage information from your clay manufacturer or measure it for your process.
